ECAC OK's Marine's Bid For Wesleyan Line Berth - A 40-year-old Marine lieutenant colonel trying out for the Wesleyan University football team got a go-ahead Wednesday from the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). Adolph G. Schwenk of Camp Lejeune, N. C., and Scarsdale, N. Y, is trying out for tackle. Schwenk's eligibility to play with Wesleyan was approved by the ACAC's committee on eligibility. The University received notice of the approval from the committee's secretary, George Shiebler. Schwenk, father of two sons, last played collegiate football 19 years ago when he was a junior at Yale. He played at Dartmouth as a freshman and Wesleyan as a sophomore. He has returned to Wesleyan to complete his senior year under a college defense program.
