East Lee, Mass. Silt and debris is plowed like snow as rescue workers clean up after the flash flood which hit the Berkshire County Community of East Lee, Mass. Sunday afternoon. The flood was caused when a man-made dam at Mud Pond broke releasing a torrent of more than 20 acres of water to tear a path of destruction of more than two miles in length. One male resident, Edward Gage, 60, was killed an a neighbor, Mrs. Olive Courtnier, 55, was missing after water split her home. Rescue workers are still searching for her body. Damage to the community is estimated at over 10 million dollars.
