Sterling Castle - No. 1
Item Information
- Title:
- Sterling Castle - No. 1
- Description:
-
The castle buildings rise from a precipitous cliff, the highest point of which is approximately half way across the plate. Beneath the rock the broken ground still falls steeply. On its lower slopes is a cluster of houses; to the nearest of these a round out-house is attached, with a curious conical roof. The lower portion of the slope on the left has again been altered. A clump of trees to left of the little spire has been burnished out, and the ground falls away more sharply, bare of trees, reaching the left side of the plate at the height of 55 mm. from the bottom, instead of 65 mm.
