Near the intersection of Broadway and Madison Avenue, New York, an immense excavation has been made for the foundations of a new building; its walls are shored up, and a tall crane rises from a platform near the bottom of the pit. Tramway lines in street reinforced. Shadows added to the little figures in the street, just to left of the highest part of the hoarding.
