S. Alfred Steinthal writes to William Lloyd Garrison, telling him that "death is sadly busy this year among friends," mentioning the deaths of a family member and of Mary Carpenter. He also tells Garrison he will be visting London next week and invites to him attend a dinner with "the former and present students of the College."

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed on white stationery with a red embossed logo at the head edge of the first page, showing a pair of wings around a tail, all surrounded by an oval belt that contains the word "Excelsior." Above the salutation, the number "106" is written in pencil.
