Description:
George Thompson writes to William Lloyd Garrison commenting that while once he "was vilified & denounced by the President & professors of this Institution. Now, I am respectfully invited, hospitably entertained, & students, & Faculty, & the Trustees, & the Editor of the Christian Advocate encourage, caress and applaud me." He discusses the "truly splendid meeting" he held and tells Garrison that "the mention of your name drew forth loud & respected cheers." He also asks Garrison to share his decision about whether he will come to Middletown the next week.

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) manuscript composed in black ink on white paper with a faint embossed logo of a building in the tail- fore corner of the first page. The number "121" is written in pencil above the salutation. In the head- spine corner, "See Life of W.L.G. 4: 103" is written and underlined in a different handwriting and a different shade of black ink.
