Description:
A.B. Ordway sends Maria Weston Chapman's the letter of "N.M." for the mere novelty of this note. The committee was present when it was received. She requests that Maria continues "her favors. We would not intrude on your goodness but if you will have patience...till some other writers will volunteer, it will aid our cause very much. Communications on any subject will be very acceptable from your pen." Anna R. Philbrick to Maria Weston Chapman in regards to receiving a letter from Sarah Moore Grimke "mostly about the death of her mother, about which of course she feels a great deal." Sarah asks her to give a great deal of love to Maria and to thank you for the volume she sent her. She says they are looking forward to their expected addition to their family with "indescribable interest, desiring that they may receive the gift as a fresh evidence of the love of God." Theodore D. Weld has written a circular on the moral condition of the slaves. Angelina [Emily Grimke] mentions at the end that she received Maria's letter in a box from England which had just arrived. She also mentions in a postscript the visit they had from Mrs. Mott.
