Letter from Lucy Stone, West Brookfield, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, [18]50 June 23
Description:
Lucy Stone writes to Samuel May stating that she is leaving for Illinois and will not return until the middle of August, and so she will miss the upcoming conventions. Stone says, "But Stephen Foster, Charles Burleigh and yourself will be enough to move Mass[achusetts] and keep the people wide awake." She also stresses the need for Parker Pillsbury to rest before his lecture tour in Ohio and tells May she "hope[s] the conventions will fully answer your expectations ..."
