Letter from Charles Calistus Burleigh, Plainfield, [Connecticut], to Samuel May, [18]51 [July] 12
Description:
C.C. Burleigh writes to Samuel May reporting that his wife has given birth to a daughter. Burleigh says his wife, Gertrude Kimber Burleigh, "is in as good a condition as could any way be expected, having suffered much less than is usual on such occasions, with women in general ..." He adds, "The little one also is healthy & thriving & in every respect we have abundant cause to rejoice & be thankful." Burleigh says that he is now ready to continue lecturing and attending Sunday meetings, and suggests he could attend the next meetings on the 20th or the 27th, as well as first two Sundays in August.
