Letter from Lewis Ford, North Abington, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1851 Aug[ust] 24
Description:
Lewis Ford writes to Samuel May concerning the next meeting "at West Middleboro (West or North, I think its West)." He tells May he will send him the details of the meeting but that he does not "know that there has ever been an antislavery lecture in the above place." Ford says one abolitionist in town requested that Lucy Stone come, but he asks May to send Stone or another speaker to accompany Nathaniel H. Whiting, telling him to "send whoever you can, let us have some one on the 14th, please write me."
Holograph, signed.
Title devised by cataloger.
On verso, the letter is addressed to "S. May Jr. Leicester Mass." and it is postmarked with a black, circular stamp reading, "Abington Mas. Aug 25."
