Letter from Daniel Foster, Lawrence, [Massachusetts], to Samuel May, 1852 Sept[ember] 25
Description:
Daniel Foster writes to Samuel May stating that he "should like to work in the region of Fitchburg through the month of October." He reports that the lectured in Manchester "five times with good success & full attendance" and also three times in Gloucester. He says that although he "had to pay my own board at the tavern," he is "duly encouraged to hope in the triumph of the truth in this grand struggle." Foster also comments on the nomination of Horace Mann for Governor of Massachusetts by the Free Democrats.
