Hurricane Ether at noon EDT was 150 miles west-southwest of Bermuda and moving north at nine miles per hour. It is expected to pass to the west of the resort island the afternoon of 9/12. Although a small deviation in course could bring the storm very near, most Bermudians and tourists unconcernedly went about their business, in spite of U.S. Weather Bureau warnings that they should take hurricane precautions.
