Bacon, died of pneumonic plague -- dread Black Death which ravaged Europe in Middle Ages. White-garbed laboratory assistants are shown at work in vaccine unit. Bacon, authotities say, ws working on pneumonic and bubonic plague. Forty persons known to have had recent contact with Bacon are under rigid surveillance and dosed with antibiotic drugs.
