Warns of Weakened NATO-- Dean Acheson, former Secretary of State, warned Congress today of a heightened Soviet hazard to the West if French nationalism splits Western Europe into "a number of small to medium-sized and weak states." Appearing before the Senate Government Operations National Security Subcommittee, the 73-year-old Acheson discussed problems arising from France's intentions of quitting the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Acheson helped draft the NATO pact.
