Description:
James Gillespie Birney writes to Amos A. Phelps that Phelps’s letter came to his hand “too late to do anything in relation to your second hint.” He says “all that can properly & honorably be done to counteract the scheme to which you refer ought to be done.” He then discusses the lecturing activities and future plans of John Scoble. Birney also mentions his father’s death and his plan to visit Kentucky.
