Robert Rae offers William Lloyd Garrison the thanks and appreciation of the committee of the National Temperance League for Garrison's assent to meet them upon his return to London, and states that they trust his stay will rejuvenate and restore his ailing health. Rae announces the Freedmen's Committee has requested to switch meeting dates with the National Temperance League, and declares that he has assented to do so pending Garrison's approval.
