Letter from E. T. Foote, New Haven, to Amos Augustus Phelps, April 13th 1846
Description:
E. T. Foote writes to Amos A. Phelps to advise to have his reply to Dr. Bacon published before the “meeting of the ?New Scheme? Gen. Assembly.” Foote believes that Dr. Bacon's motivation for publishing his article in the Evangelist is to influence that body. He expresses his skepticism on the sincerity of Dr. Bacon's antislavery position.
