A Scene in Pennsylvania As Drought Becomes More Serious. Yardley, Pa. -- Taken here yesterday is this view of the Lehigh Canal, which is gradually becoming no more than a thin trickle of water because of the continued dry spell. A discarded rubber tire in the center indicates its shallowness to the group of young people standing at a spot where the water formerly ran deep. This is a typical acne in this state where the drought, one of the worst on record, has caused great damage to crops.
