Description:
Johnson reports that Mr. Leonard has at last located the missing letter to Johnson from Garrison at the Anti-Slavery Office. Johnson exclaims his personal satisfaction in learning that, concerning his valedictory, the judgement of Garrison "so heartily accords" with that of his own on the matter. Johnson expresses his hurt and bewilderment at Phillips's attack on the Standard and subsequent attempts to separate Johnson from the Executive Committee and Edmund Quincy, attempts which he states have failed.
