Letter from C. C. Nichols, Assonet, to Amos Augustus Phelps, July 19th 1840
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, C. C. Nichols requests that Phelps be present to speak at the first annual meeting of the Bristol County Abolition Society to be held at East Attleboro, or that he provide his substitutes. After signing, Nichols adds a note requesting that the Massachusetts Abolitionist be sent to Miss Hathaway in Freetown. This letter is followed by two other notes, both signed by “G. R.” (presumably George Russell), asking Phelps to let Nichols know that the paper has been regularly sent to Miss Hathaway.
