Music sits before a monument whose facade occupies the whole depth of the composition and even surpasses it at the top and on both sides. Her body is turned so as to appear almost from the back. Naked to the hips, she holds a trumpet with one hand. With the other hand she writes on the stone with a chisel. She writes a date, "18...," under the name of Richard Wagner. A lyre and a bundle of foliage are placed behind her, to the right, on the step. On the ground there are two crowns.
