Holograph, signed.
Sylvia Ann Ammidon attended a large sumptuous party in Hingham. She describes her subsequent social activities in Boston, including a visit to Spring Lane [school?], where the girls and teachers were delighted to see her. She mentions calling on Miss Crowninshield, whose cousin is alive and well after pretending to hang himself. She especially describes her visits to Mrs. Maria Weston Chapman on West Street, where she saw Henry [Grafton Chapman] looking 'as pale as ashes." Maria's house is beautiful, "furnished sweetly." She heard an excellent sermon by Dr. [Charles Theodore Christian] Follen of Cambridge.
