Picture caption: The house of Joseph Adams where the first Carlisle town meeting was held May 3-1754. As early as 1732 an agreement was made in this house to support public worship. It is located in Concord, near the Carlisle line. Owned later by the Amos Melvin heirs and still later by Mr. Willard White.
