Research by the Society for American Baseball Research in 2010-2011 suggests that the photograph may have been taken closer to 1932. The players on the field are wearing uniform numbers and National League teams did not start wearing uniform numbers until midway thru the 1932 season (the only exception being the Boston Braves who began the 1932 season with them).
