William Lloyd Garrison hopes that Elizabeth Pease (Nichol) will visit America together with George Thompson. Garrison refers to the stir caused by his call for the dissolution of the American Union. The disclaimer by the Executive Committee of the parent American Anti-Slavery Society has been condemned by abolitionists. Garrison considers it merely an error of judgment. He states his ideas on religion and morality. Henry Clarke Wright is leaving for England in August. Clarke's preaching style is "blunt and severe, but calm and affectionate"; and his "great forte lies in addressing little children, over whom he exerts complete mastery."
