Kenneth Reeves appeared as the cover story for BLK magazine in January 1994. The cover features a serious-faced portrait of Kenneth Reeves next to the title, "Do they know that the Mayor of Cambridge is Gay?" The article by Shawn Hinds concerns Ken Reeves' "coming out" at the December 1992 Boston Lesbian/Gay Political Alliance and explores why Ken Reeves did not see this as a coming out. Reeves also explains his relationship to and history with the city of Cambridge, the broader Gay and Lesbian community, and Cambridge's St. Paul A.M.E. Church. The last page of this article was accidently omitted from the January issue, so it was reprinted in the February issue.
