Johnny Shkor, Boston heavyweight who engaged with world champion Joe Louis recently, puts on the small gloves again tonight for a real fight with Angel Sotillo of South America at Boston Arena. The quest of Joe Louis, retired world heavyweight boxing champion, for money that may be picked up more or less easily in a series of 10 exhibition bouts of 10-round listing, reaches another stage at the Boston Garden tonight, where Louis will put on a bout with Johnny Shkor, the large-sized Bostonian, The event is booked as a no-decision affair, but, of course, does not mean no-Shkor. The Louis-Shkor Shindig is on the books as a fight, not an exhibition, and the two fighters will wear 10-ounce gloves, which are just the right size for big men. The only way either fighter can be called a winner would be by a knockout and unless Shkor had improved terrifically and unless Louis has slipped very badly, the chances are that the 10-rounder will not go the distance. Louis should either put away Shkor by an actual referee’s count or else have the Bostonian so marked up that an early halt will be called.
