U.C. Researchists Form Five Man Team. Made possible by $250,000 gifts to the University, a modern research plan establishes the first Medical Physics laboratory in the world, representing a union of physics, medicine, chemistry, bacteriology, biology and genetics governed by a five man team of scientists. Leader of the group is Dr. John H. Lawrence who is in charge of medical investigations with the cyclotron developed by his Nobel Prize winning brother Dr. A. O. Lawrence. Left to right, the five man research team: Dr. Joseph G. Hamilton, medical chemist; Dr. Paul Aebersold, physicist; Dr. Robert S. Stone, radiologist; Dr. Alfred G. Marshak, animal biologist and geneticist; Dr. John H. Lawrence, clinical investigator in charge of medical work with the cyclotron.
