Letter from Samuel May, Boston, to Richard Davis Webb, Jan. 13, 1848
Description:
May explains that his notepaper is scrap paper from a nearby printing shop that donates paper to the Anti-Slavery Office. He discusses various business transactions and asserts his belief that Henry Clapp, Jr. lacks good moral principles. May tells Webb, "I heartily sympathize in your warm respect and admiration for Mr. [William Lloyd] Garrison." May praises Webb for his courage and spiritual strength.
