Letter from James Haughton, Dublin, to Samuel May, 26th Oct. 1851
Description:
Haughton, on behalf of the daughter of Joseph Hutton, inquires as to the "character and circumstances" of Mr. Joseph Perry Price of 80 Federal Street, Boston, who wishes to marry the mistress of a local Irish Unitarian school. Haughton philosophizes over the advance of civilization and the Empire Exposition. He thinks that no prizes should have been awarded at the exposition.
