Flora's Path-Map shows wide path out by Hurricane Flora across the Negro Caribbean republic of Haiti and part of Cuba. Haitian officials today reported the hurricane has spread ruin across two-fifths of the country, killed possibly 4,000 persons and left 100,000 or more homeless. Much of the country still was isolated by high water, making it difficult to assess the extent of the disaster. Among the hardest hit communities were Jacmel, Aquin, Petit Goave and St. Marc, all underlined. Rains today still lashed parts of Haiti as Flora hung over Cuba, across the Windward Passage to the west.
