May informs Webb that his son Richard Webb is sailing home on one of the new White Star steamers. May reports that his mother is ill and that Leicester, Massachusetts received a gift from Leicester, England on its 150th anniversary. He tells about Abraham Firth, who proposed the gift. May says that he sent his files of the "Cradle of Liberty" and "The Nation" to the May Collection at Cornell University. He adds that he has almost promised to give Cornell his set of "The Liberator."
