Hurricane Isbell failed to make a predicted turn toward the coast of the Carolinas late 10/15,greatly reducing chances that the storm will smash ashore. Forecasters ordered warnings lowered on the South Carolina coast but left them up on the North Carolina coast. The latest advisory from the Miami Weather Bureau has placed the center of the storm 260 miles south of Cape Hatteras and moving toward the northeast at 20-mph.
