From "War Memories" catalog: This gun had its muzzle burst off, as here shown, by one of its own shells, which exploded just as it left the muzzle of the gun. As the gun was very useful it was roughly repaired by chisseling off the roughest parts of the fracture, and then it was used as though nothing had happened to it.
