Prof. Albert Abrahamson, nationally-known government consultant, administrator and teacher, has been named the first Lincoln K. Skolfield Jr. professor at Bowdoin College. The Skolfield professorship was established from part of the Solon E. and Lida Skolfield Turner Fund, amounting to more than $732,000. Skolfield was a native of Brunswick and was graduated from Bowdoin in 1916. He operated a marine engineering firm in California until his death, in 1941. Announcement of the appointment was made Thursday by James S. Coles, Bowdoin president.
