In his letter to Amos A. Phelps written on April 27, 1839, Alanson St. Clair discusses the loss of some potential agents due to delays in action, and lists the names of new agents and the towns assigned to them. On another letter written on the same sheet of paper on the next day in Southampton, St. Clair talks about sending the “Abolitionist” to certain individuals and relocating the agent for Framingham to some of the upper counties instead. He also talks about his plans for the next a few days.
