Letter from Henry Brewster Stanton, New York, to Amos Augustus Phelps, Jan 29. 183[9]
Description:
In this letter to Amos A. Phelps, Henry B. Stanton says Elizur Wright will assume the editorial charge of the paper (presumably the Massachusetts Abolitionist) after the anniversary of the American Anti-Slavery Society. Until then, Wright will write columns for the paper. Stanton asks this to be kept in strict confidentiality until he (Stanton) comes to Boston. He goes on discussing ways to reduce costs for printing and publishing the paper.
