Subject is a Caucasian male standing with legs apart, left hand in coat pocket and holding an oblong parcel in his right hand. Subject is smiling and wears a cap on his head, a knee-length coat, vest and white shirt. Behind the subject is a two-story white house and just visible behind him is a wagon with wooden wheels. To the right of the white house is the New Bedford City Hall [now the Public Library]. To the extreme right of the image is a second Caucasian male subject dressed in dark clothing with just the side of his face and the fingers of one hand visible.
