Get in There--Dick Sikes, Springdale, Arkansas, does a high kick as he tries to help the ball to drop on the 14th green during his National Amateur match with Charles Coe, Oklahoma City (background). The ball hung on the lip of the cup and he had to settle for a par 3 which was still good enough to enable him to win the hole. Sikes defeated Coe in the 36-hole semi-final match and he will meet Deane Beman of Bethesda, Maryland in Saturday’s final match.
