Broken Bat Breaks His Streak - Philadelphia Phillies' Pitcher Jack Sanford heaves on Chicago Cubs' Dale Long's broken bat in the Phillies dressing room after Long got a broken bat single off Sanford in the eighth inning off the second game of the doubleheader between the Phils and the Cubs. The single broke Sanford's no-hitter which he had going up to that time. Cubs' Pitcher Bob Rush had a no-hitter up to the eighth inning of the first game but lost out as the Phils racked up five hits. The Phils won both games, 1-0 and 3-1, to go into second place in the National League.
