[Additional information from item] Ex-Mayor Nichols Dies at 73 of Heart Attack Malcolm E. Nichols, 73, Republican mayor of Boston from 1926 to 1930, died early today of a heart attack at his home, 796 Center street, Jamaica Plain. Mr. Nichols, a former newspaperman, was the only Republican to be elected mayor of Boston since 1901. His political career also included service as collector of internal revenue, as a member of the Boston Transit Commission and as a member of both Houses of the State Legislature.
