Walter Rothwell (1872-1927) was an English pianist and conductor. He was an assistant conductor to Gustave Mahler in Vienna and came to America to conduct the national tour of the Savage Opera Co. "Madama Butterfly" and "Parsifal" had their first American performances under him. At the time of his death, he had been the conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for eight years.
