Farm Neck Golf Club—an ambivalent conservation success. Upon the bankruptcy of Island Properties and its plan to build 824 houses on 500 acres, a group purchased the land and developed Farm Neck Golf Club and approximately 50 homes. With 85 acres donated to the Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary and conservation easements established on much of the golf course, Farm Neck became an unusual example of a high-end golf course development lauded by conservationists.
