The "Scala Sancta" of Lourdes of America, 2511 Bronxwood Ave., Bronx, New York. The "Scala Sancta," at Rome, consists of 28 white marble steps. According to tradition, this staircase once led to the Praetorium of Pilate at Jerusalem, hence sanctified by the footsteps of Our Lord during His Passion. An imitation of the "Scala Sancta" has been erected in the Lourdes of France, and now another one has been erected in the Lourdes of America.
