A handwritten letter, dated October 7, 1812, from Admiral Sir John Borlase Warren to the Secretary of the Admiralty, John Wilson Croker. In the letter, Warren writes, "I have sent you two of the latest papers from the U: States: & am sorry to say that any Friendly Disposition seems small indeed: Maddison in consequence of the War & the increase of Patronage has probably secured his election...The attacks upon Canada continue & in more Force..."
