Chien de pays! je ne tue que des moineaux, encore c'est des femelles; et le farceur de garde qui disait que c'était criblé de lièvres!
Title (alt.):
Caricature. Damn country! I'm only shooting sparrows, and just the females; and this joke of a gamekeeper insisted the place is crawling with jack-rabbits!
Description:
A hunter is complaining that the only game he manages to shoot are sparrows. Meanwhile, a rabbit runs between his legs, unnoticed. Daumier often portrayed his hunter's as incompetents.
