This photograph was taken by Ralph L. Cheney, Class of 1901 and Professor of Sociology and Director of the Secretarial Department at the International YMCA College, now Springfield College, sometime between 1907 to 1924. A caption written on the back of this image reads "Girls Club Gym. Held in YMCA gym. Lead [sic] by YMCA College Men. R. L. Cheney. YMCA College, Springfield, Ma." The location of the picture is inside a YMCA gym in an unknown location and shows girls and perhaps some boys seated and standing in rows. Adults stand in the back row. A number of the children seem to be making faces at the camera.
