The King, represented as pig keeper, distributes medals to the members of his government, here shown as pigs rolling in mud. Behind the King is Thiers. France, shown as a rooster, is observing the scene. A vulture sits on top of the shack. The allusion to the King's pigheadedness and dirty style of government is obvious.
