People are obliged by the army to dance under the window of the King, who is dressed up as Tristan. The King, together with André-Marie-Jean-Jacques Dupin (1783-1865), is looking out of the window, while the soldiers are guarding the dancers. This print is a reminiscence of Catherine of Russia and her trip down the Volga.
