Charivari. View taken from Argenteuil (October 1856).
Description:
Some men and women are picking grapes in Argenteuil in October. The wine harvested in the vineyards of the Argenteuil area had the reputation of having been treated with sulphur, which apparently could sometimes be hazardous to one's health.
